‘For filmmaker Soham Kundu, cinema is a powerful tool...‘ – Creative Lives In Progress
‘My approach is rooted in auto-ethnography, employing film to intricately depict layered narratives for screen audiences. Central to my artistic practice is the intimacy and fragility of human relationships, delicately exploring family histories, generational trauma, expressions of masculinity, the idea of home, and the tensions and isolation of city life. I aspire to afford my characters the freedom to navigate their narratives. Having resided in both India and the UK, exposed to diverse cultures, I gravitate towards narratives that reflect the global majority, with a specific focus on South-Asian and diasporic identities.’
