Short Film | India, UK | 2026
Dithsa returns to Kolkata to live with her single mother, Rupa, after years away. Stepping back feels both familiar and distant. Dithsa drifts through old photographs, voice recordings, and half-forgotten memories, their relationship strained by her father’s absence. Through Kakuli, Rupa’s lifelong friend, Dithsa begins to see a different side of her mother, beyond the role of a parent. She searches for a key to their abandoned family home, and when she finally visits, a strange encounter reveals the woman her mother once was—shaped by her own longings, dreams, and compromises.
The Haze is set in Kolkata and features a cast of non-actors, including my mother, sister, and their friends.
